Employee of the Month July 2003

Nancy Hydinger, the July 2003 Employee of the Month, is responsible for managing the care of RCH patients who are admitted to facilities other than Redlands Community Hospital.

Since she was hired in July of 1999, she has shown an extraordinary commitment to each patient as well as the financial interest of the hospital.

Managed Care Director Linda Dutton explained in her nomination that Nancy must work with the clinical and non-clinical staff of multiple medical groups, health plans, hospitals, skilled nursing facilities and the patient's physicians for each case she handles.

"In doing this, she has to put on different hats working as a patient advocate and getting the physicians (and health plans) to agree on a course of action that is best for the patient from a medical and psycho/social prospective," Dutton said.

She added, "Nancy's tenacity in doing her job and doing it well saves RCH and the medical groups thousands of dollars on a month to month basis."
