Employee of the Month February 2005

Wendi Stephens, Certified Occupational Therapist in Physical Medicine has been named the February 2005 Employee of the Month.

Wendi has helped facilitate the Employee Wellness and Weight Watchers programs and runs the stroke recovery program at the hospital.

"She is a great asset to the hospital," Michelle Bruny wrote in her nomination form. "She makes sure that whatever she does exceeds the standard of care."

Much of the reason she is an exemplary employee is her level of customer service.

"All her patients love her. She is very loving, caring, encouraging, supportive and compassionate with her patients," Bruny said.

"I often work with Wendi during patient care and she always makes her patients feel at ease and her competent instructions help them return quickly to their prior level of function," explained Isobel Pardo, Physical Therapy Assistant.

Wendi's director, Scott Bjerke, said, "Wendi is a real pleasure to work with. She comes to work pleasant and happy all the time. We really appreciate her in the department."

Wendi explained that it is easy to be happy at RCH, "because I work with a good group of people."

Wendi has worked for RCH since May 12, 1997.
