Hospital
clinics receive grant from Bank of America |
REDLANDS,CA – In keeping with their focus on funding health and human services programs, the Bank of America Foundation has awarded Redlands Community Hospital a grant for $10,000. The purpose is to assist the hospital in its charitable program to provide healthcare for low-income families at its family clinics in the area. Pam Huston, manager at the B of A Banking Center in Redlands, presented the check to the Redlands Community Hospital Board of Directors at their October 6th board meeting.

“Bank of America is dedicated to achieving high standards in its commitment to our communities,” stated Huston. “Providing support to organizations like Redlands Community Hospital, which provides quality healthcare for all members of our community, is key to our strategy to support programs that truly make a difference. We appreciate the hospital’s valuable work and accomplishments in this area. This grant will help continue their success.”

The hospital operates two full-service clinics to serve family members of all ages whom have little or no health insurance: RCH Redlands Family Clinic at 802 W. Colton Ave., Suite E, and the Yucaipa Family Clinic at 34675 Yucaipa Blvd., Suite 101. The hospital also offers four school-based clinics in the Redlands Unified School District : Lugonia, Mentone, Franklin and Victoria Elementary Schools. The school-based clinics were started in 1999 through a partnership with RUSD and the Healthy Start Program.

The hospital’s annual budget to operate the family clinics is approximately $334,000, most of which is provided as a charitable community service. “The hospital’s mission since 1904 has been to care for all people in the community, regardless of their ability to pay,” stated Jim Holmes, hospital president. “The uninsured, under-insured and homeless families in the area depend on us for healthcare they cannot obtain elsewhere. We provide family members with such low-cost healthcare services as sick visits, check-ups, immunizations, physicals, pregnancy care, screenings for diabetes, cancer, cholesterol, heart disease and more. On behalf of all the patients who need our help, we thank the Bank of America Foundation for this generous gift.”
